A memorandum, more commonly known as a memo, is a short message or record used for internal communication in a business. Once the primary form of internal written communication, memorandums have declined in use since the introduction of email and other forms of electronic messaging; however, being able to write clear memos certainly can serve you well in writing internal business emails, as they often serve the same purpose.

SUBJECT: Communication Skills. Computer Programmers Need
To start with, the contemporary world of business and work is impossible without skills and strategies which ensure successful communication. Every job requires a special range of language tools aimed at contributing to the development and advancement of various projects, affairs, etc.
People, whose work consists of computer programming, need to possess a series of communication skills. These skills are necessary to interact with clients, persuade them, prepare reports and present them at the meetings. The number and nature of communication skills depend on the company a person is working for.
- First and foremost, verbal communication is used to find out the details of a project and convince a client that this project will be completed properly. After the project is finished, verbal communication is applied in its presentation and completing the report, which usually follows the presentation. Finally, all these stages need to be passed through in a correct, often flexible, and style-dependent manner (Johnson-Eilola and Selber 2012).
Another reason why oral communication skills are essential to this job is supported by the need for satisfying the client’s requirements to the order. If communication is held improperly, a project is likely to be abandoned, since no trust would be established. On the contrary, when the communication process is conducted at an appropriate business level taking into account all necessary strategies, a project is likely to be launched successfully. Special attention has to be paid to non-verbal communication, such as gestures, eye contact, intonation, etc (Lannon and Gurak 2013). Psychologists are convinced that non-verbal components of communication serve as the basis for trust and contact establishment.

- Secondly, written language is also of high importance, since creating programs and websites requires a clear understanding and knowledge of grammar and punctuation. In other words, a project has to be composed and performed following strict grammar and punctuation rules, which are part of communication skills, since they deal with language. As a result, communication skills are vital for any job and computer programmers as well, since they lead to the success and prosperity of both employees and employers.
